Tonight, Mole Valley District Council has called an Extraordinary Meeting to discuss the Local Plan. No meetings have been held since the administration paused the plan a year ago. This has caused speculative applications in the green belt to grow significantly.
The Conservative Group have always said the Mole Valley Local Plan is not fit for purpose and builds on too much of our green belt without fully exploring our brownfield sites.
Mole Valley Conservative Group Leader Councillor James Chambers says, "Despite 4 years of drift and delay the Lib Dem Local Plan is not fit for purpose, and builds on too much of our Green Belt without fully exploring brown field development options. Accordingly, Conservative Councillors will be voting tonight to remove Green Belt development from the Local Plan."
