I spoke to the BBC Today programme this morning on the water supply problems being experienced in Guildford and Godalming. Clearly it is unacceptable that people have gone without water for so long and highly concerning that it is taking so long to fix a fault blamed on the storms of last week. I have asked for a full report but I think this really sets out the need for Surrey to be at the forefront of the £18.6billion investment that Thames Water have committed for upgrading infrastructure. Ensuring safe access to the water for all is the top priority followed by stopping the levels of sewage in Mole Valley. I am determined to get the funding over to us.
